Once, television promised us enlightenment. Instead, it gave us underwire and horsepower. In “Broadcast Body”, the woman is reduced to an advertisement, the car becomes her crown, and the whole production hums like a commercial break gone terribly right.
Of course, I could have given you Greek statuary or delicate allegory—but why bother, when pop culture does absurdity so much better? It’s my valentine to the marriage of desire and machinery, sweetheart. And like most marriages, it comes with static.
